A state review board on Tuesday rejected recent updates to California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standards, delaying rules expected to raise gas prices.
The Office of Administrative Law found parts of the regulations unclear, requiring the California Air Resources Board to revise and resubmit them within 120 days.
CARB insists the rejection was technical, not substantive, and the current standards remain in effect.
