Sonoma County Animal Sanctuary Hosts Unique Fundraiser

A Sonoma County animal sanctuary recently hosted a unique fundraiser. Charlie’s Acres Farm Animal Sanctuary held its first-ever live music event on February 16th, featuring Nigerian drummer and singer Manas Itene.

Around 35 attendees enjoyed a tour of the sanctuary and an acoustic performance, which included interactive elements and a communal drum circle. The event aimed to raise both funds and awareness for the sanctuary and its 150 rescued farm animals. Tickets were $50, with all proceeds supporting the care of the animals and educational programs.

Founded in 2016, Charlie’s Acres provides a safe haven for rescued farm animals and educates the public about their welfare. The sanctuary was inspired by founder Tracy Vogt’s own rescue dog, Charlie, highlighting the need for farm animal rescue and giving these animals a second chance.
