Sonoma Police Investigate School Violence Threat

Authorities in Sonoma have investigated a threat of school violence, serving a search warrant at a downtown residence Tuesday afternoon.

Sonoma Police, along with Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputies and detectives, executed the warrant on the 300 block of West Spain Street. The investigation stemmed from an online threat of school violence recently received by Sonoma Police. Due to the involvement of a minor, a 17-year-old male, further details are limited at this time.

Sonoma Police Chief Brandon Cutting reassured the community that schools and residents are no longer considered to be at risk. He emphasized the importance of school safety and the department’s commitment to taking all threats seriously.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about potential threats to schools to contact law enforcement immediately.
