Man Accused Of Attacking Lawyer Now Facing Felony Charges

The man accused of attacking and robbing a Sonoma County public defender is now facing felony charges.

Charges filed against Leon Simms Junior this week include attempted kidnapping, false imprisonment and assault. Simms, who appeared in court on Tuesday, asked for time to hire a private attorney, which resulted in the case being postponed. He remains behind bars on half a million dollars bail.

The alleged attack happened last Thursday afternoon, near the county courthouse.
