Sonoma County Sheriff Eddie Engram is detailing his office’s interactions with ICE officials.
Last year, Sonoma County Jail received 484 release notification requests from ICE and responded 64 times. The Sheriff says that is out of more than 14-thousand bookings during the year. Two inmates were transferred to ICE custody after federal warrants were presented to the Sheriff’s Office.
Between January and March of this year, Sonoma County Jail received 128 ICE notifications asking for inmate release dates, along with 44 requests for other types of information. In those three months, eight people were arrested by ICE at the jail.
