The Santa Rosa Police Department will review how it sends emergency alerts.
It comes after the murder-suicide that left two Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office employees dead earlier this week. On Tuesday, officials admitted a delayed CivicReady notification caused confusion and concern for residents. The notification was sent about eleven hours after deputy Jeremy Lyle died by suicide following a six-hour standoff, allegedly after killing his ex-partner, Mari Bonnici.
The notification also came after a road had already been closed for 12 hours.
