Sonoma County is approving the first release of funding raised by a new tax measure to support childcare.
On Tuesday, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors okayed the release of eleven-point-four million dollars. The funding, raised through Measure I, will go to the First Five Sonoma County Commission. That’s the local child and family services agency responsible for administering the funds.
The board also approved a plan that details how the money will be spent during the current fiscal year. The Measure I sales tax was first implemented five months ago.
