After a three-year break from politics, former Santa Rosa mayor and police chief Tom Schwedhelm is running for the Sonoma County 4th District Supervisor seat.
The Press Democrat reports Schwedhelm, 65, says he has the “capacity, energy, and desire” to continue serving the community. He’ll be challenging Cloverdale Mayor Todd Lands for the seat in the June 2026 election.
Schwedhelm is expected to highlight his experience leading Santa Rosa through major events like the Tubbs fire and the COVID-19 pandemic.
