Santa Rosa Woman Gets 10 Years For Fatal DUI Crash Last November

A Santa Rosa woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for a fatal DUI crash that killed a Reno resident last November.

The Press Democrat reports Maria Sebastian, 58, was sentenced Wednesday after pleading no contest to gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. Investigators say Sebastian was under the influence of drugs when her car veered into oncoming traffic on Lakeville Highway, causing a three-vehicle collision. The crash killed 77-year-old Kathleen Swensen, and injured two others.

In a sentencing brief, Sebastian’s attorney noted that she is remorseful and has accepted responsibility for her actions.
