Sunday Morning Fire In Rohnert Park Believed To Have Been Caused By Electrical Malfunction

A fire in Rohnert Park early Sunday displaced two residents and their dog.

The blaze broke out around 4:55 a.m. in a townhouse on Santa Alicia Drive. The Press Democrat reports firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within 30 minutes, keeping it contained to the room where it started.

The rest of the house sustained smoke and water damage, making it uninhabitable. Neighbors in connected units were evacuated as a precaution but were able to return home shortly after. No injuries were reported.

Investigators believe the fire was electrical and started in a wall. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.
