Brief Heatwave To Hit The North Bay This Week

A brief heat wave is set to hit the North Bay this week, pushing temperatures into the mid-90s.

According to the National Weather Service, the warm-up begins Monday, with highs in the low 90s for much of the region. The Press Democrat reports the peak heat is expected on Tuesday, with some areas like Sonoma and Windsor reaching 95 degrees.

While this heat will increase fire risk, especially with already dry vegetation, winds are expected to remain light. Overnight lows will drop into the 50s, providing some relief before the heat returns the next day.

By Thursday, temperatures are forecast to fall back into the 80s, with a chance of thunderstorms moving in by late in the week.
