The Sonoma City Council has approved a $530,000 project to make West Spain Street safer for bicyclists and pedestrians.
According to the Sonoma Index-Tribune, the plan includes road repairs and new signage, with construction set to begin in November. In other business, the council voted against allowing a second cannabis dispensary in the city.
The decision followed a push from residents for more competition, but the council cited concerns about potential a decline in sales tax revenue and stated that other issues, like housing, are a higher priority.
