Residents Urge SVUSD To Keep Local School Open

During a community meeting last night, residents urged the Sonoma Valley Unified School District to find alternatives to closing a local school.

According to the Sonoma Index-Tribune, the district is considering the move to address budget issues. Participants prioritized the condition of school facilities as the most important factor to consider if a closure is necessary. The majority of groups also said they don’t believe closing a school is the best way to solve the district’s financial problems.

The school board is expected to review the community’s feedback at a special meeting this Thursday.
