SVUSD Seeking Advice For Fate Of Recently Closed Campuses

The Sonoma Valley Unified School District is seeking advice on the fate of its recently closed campuses, including Adele Harrison Middle School and the soon-to-be-closed Prestwood Elementary.

According to the Sonoma Index-Tribune, the district is facing declining enrollment and budget issues, has turned to its 7-11 Committee, a group of community members, to recommend whether to sell, lease, or keep the properties.

Acting Superintendent Rena Seifts confirmed there are no immediate plans for the sites. She emphasized that any future decision will follow a long, public, and transparent process, with any resulting revenue benefiting students’ needs.

The SVUSD encourages continued community involvement.
