Windsor Town Council To Consider Emergency Ordinance To Preserve Mobile Home Parks

The Windsor Town Council met last night to consider an emergency ordinance to temporarily stop all mobile home park closures or conversions.

The Press Democrat reports the urgency measure follows the owner of Evergreen Mobile Estates, Nick Ubaldi, announcing his intent to close the park, citing financial losses from local rent control. Ubaldi stated he is prepared to legally fight policies he views as unconstitutional.

Town staff recommend the 45-day moratorium to safeguard a crucial source of affordable housing for the community, especially seniors, while the town reviews its regulations.
