A 12-year-old cold case in Northern California is cold no more, thanks to advanced DNA technology.
Authorities say unidentified human remains found 12 years ago have now been positively identified as Velma Louise Silva Lee of Napa. Lee had been missing for several years before the remains were found in Redding.
The case of her disappearance ran cold until investigators were able to use a new kind of forensic DNA testing to solve the case.
