North Fitch Mountain Road will reopen this Friday, October 10th, at noon.
The reopening restores safe access after years of closures caused by landslides and severe storm damage. County crews completed extensive, long-term repairs, including installing gabion walls and new drainage to stabilize the slopes against future storms.
Supervisor James Gore thanked the community for its “incredible patience,” noting that the project delivers a strong, reliable road for residents and emergency responders.
This is the third major storm-recovery road repair finished this year, following work on Westside Road and West Soda Rock Lane.
