Cloverdale City Council Approves Purchase Of Downtown Parcel

The Cloverdale City Council has approved a $1.16 million purchase of a downtown parcel that includes the city’s only laundromat, The Washing Well.

The Press Democrat says the purchase is intended to eventually expand the downtown plaza. The laundromat’s owner raised concerns that losing the property’s crucial parking lot could force her to close.

City Council members reassured the owner that her business is “absolutely vital” and promised to include her in the planning for the land’s future.
