A Santa Rosa man will spend the rest of his life in prison for the 2023 rape and assault of a woman he met at a local bar.
The Press Democrat reports Devin Patrick Dwyer, 35, was sentenced to 30 years to life for rape, plus an additional nine years. Prosecutors say Dwyer invited the victim to his home, where he falsely imprisoned and brutally raped her for hours before she escaped. A jury convicted Dwyer in April.
District Attorney Carla Rodriguez stated Dwyer “committed unspeakable acts” and has “more than earned this prison sentence.”
