In Sonoma County court, the trial of animal activist Zoe Rosenberg is focusing on her history of provocative protests.
Rosenberg is facing charges after removing four chickens from Petaluma Poultry last June. According to the Press Democrat, prosecutors are working to show the jury that the chicken removal was part of a pattern of “open rescue” activism championed by Rosenberg and her group, Direct Action Everywhere (DxE).
Evidence presented includes videos of Rosenberg interrupting professional sporting events and using red dye and fake blood in other demonstrations. She testified she disguised herself as a worker to enter the facility.
Rosenberg faces up to five years in jail if convicted. The trial is ongoing.
