New Analysis Shows Dangerous Driving Patterns Near Napa County Schools

A new traffic analysis reveals dangerous driving patterns near schools across Napa County.

The study was conducted by Michelin Mobility Intelligence for the Napa Valley Transportation Authority, and found extreme speeding and high crash risks in school zones including Unidos Middle School, St. John’s Lutheran K-8, and Napa High.

Using anonymized data from tens of thousands of mobile apps and vehicle systems, researchers identified drivers frequently exceeding 100 miles per hour on county roads and combining sudden braking and sharp acceleration, increasing the risk of severe crashes.
