The union representing teachers in Sonoma County Office of Education’s specialized classrooms has filed a complaint accusing Superintendent Amie Carter of acting “dishonestly” during a recent administrator hire.
The dispute centers on a reporting error: the office told its board the union approved the hire, when the teachers’ group had formally opposed it in writing. The complaint comes amid ongoing contract negotiations, as the union nears a year without a new agreement.
Both the specialized classrooms union and another teachers’ union are working on expired contracts, and talks remain at a standstill.
