Santa Rosa has approved a major zoning change as duplexes and small apartment buildings are now allowed on nearly 2,000 single-family zoned properties.
Per the Press Democrat, this aims to create more “missing middle” housing options for diverse residents. The decision passed despite resident fears about changing neighborhood character.
New construction must still follow specific design rules.
