A Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit train strikes and kills a pedestrian Wednesday morning just south of Santa Rosa.
The collision happened around 11 a.m. near West Robles Avenue when a southbound train from Windsor hit the person on the tracks. They were pronounced dead at the scene, and deputies are investigating. The coroner’s office will release the identity after notifying family.
Two crew members and 45 passengers were on board, and no injuries were reported.
SMART set up a bus bridge between Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park stations, with some delays continuing into the afternoon.
