Rohnert Park officials approve a multi-year water rate hike for homes and businesses.
The City Council approved the increases to fund long-delayed capital projects, including repairs to aging tanks, water lines, and wells. Residents will see their household water bills rise an average of ten-dollars per month starting in January.
Businesses using roughly 150-thousand gallons per month will see bills rise by nearly 150-dollars per month. The hike totals a 45 percent increase by 2030, bringing the average monthly residential bill to about 97-dollars-30-cents.
The measure passed on a four to one vote, with Council member Samantha Rodriguez opposed.
