Santa Rosa Junior College Wrestling Team Shines

It’s a banner week for Santa Rosa Junior College athletics, headlined by a historic performance on the wrestling mats.

According to the Press Democrat, the Bear Cub men’s wrestling team secured a seventh-place finish at the State Championships last weekend—their best showing in over 20 years. Freshman Connor Jeong led the charge, pulling off a thrilling 4-2 upset in the finals to become the program’s first individual state champion since 2012. He is joined by fellow All-Americans Joe Ellis and Ryan George.

The momentum continues on the hardwood, where the third-ranked SRJC men’s basketball team prepares to host their annual Kris Kringle Tournament this weekend after an 86-70 win over Skyline. Meanwhile, the women’s team has jumped to number 11 in the state polls following their third straight victory.
