City Of Sonoma Announces Two Promotions For Key Supervisory Roles

The City of Sonoma is leaning into local talent to lead its public services.

According to the Sonoma Index-Tribune, officials have announced the promotion of two veteran employees to key supervisory roles. Tom Arrington, a certified arborist who joined the city in 2009, is the new Parks Supervisor. He will oversee maintenance for all city trails, open spaces, and cemeteries.

Meanwhile, Sonoma Valley High grad MacLean Meyn has been named Water Division Supervisor. Meyn was a leader in the city’s recent project to install advanced “smart” water meters to improve conservation.

City officials say while both positions were open to outside applicants, these internal hires highlight the deep institutional knowledge within Sonoma’s “boots on the ground” teams.
