The pride flag is flying again at Sonoma Valley High School following a weekend of community backlash over its sudden removal.
The Sonoma Index-Tribune reports Board President David Bell apologized Monday, calling the decision to take down the flag a ‘mistake’ made without public input. Bell initially pulled the flag to question the district’s display policies, but he reversed course after students and staff argued the banner is an essential sign of safety and inclusion.
While the flag was restored this morning, the school board will formally review its campus flag policy at a meeting on March 12th.
