Sebastopol To Consider Potential Grocery Outlet On Main Street

Sebastopol’s empty Rite Aid building could soon be home to a new Grocery Outlet, marking the town’s seventh grocery store.

According to the Press Democrat, the discount grocer has proposed moving into the Main Street location that has sat vacant since Rite Aid’s bankruptcy last year. To open, the chain must navigate Sebastopol’s strict rules against national franchises, which require special permits and design approvals.

Local officials are holding two community meetings on January 26th and February 2nd at the Center for the Arts, giving residents a chance to weigh in on the proposal before it moves forward.
