Officials Expand “No-Water” Zone In Clearlake Following Massive Sewage Spill

A massive sewage crisis in Clearlake is growing even more urgent this week as officials expand the “no-water” zone three weeks after nearly three million gallons of raw waste spilled into the neighborhood.

According to the Press Democrat, health officials now believe contaminated groundwater has traveled much further than originally thought, impacting 164 homes across 500 acres and leaving many families dependent on mobile laundry trailers and a limited supply of temporary water tanks.

If you live in the Robin Lane or Burns Valley areas, don’t use your well water until it’s been tested—and you can get more answers at a town hall meeting this Wednesday evening at Clearlake City Hall.
