Several Emergency Sites In Clearlake To See Reduced Hours & Closures

Recovery services are shifting for Clearlake residents affected by the January 11th sewage spill. Officials announced Friday that several emergency sites will see reduced hours or closures starting this week.

The Press Democrat reports the temporary shower and laundry facilities on Old Highway 53, along with the water truck on Pond Road, will end operations this Sunday, February 8th. Officials cite high operating costs for the change.

Starting Monday, February 9th, shower access will move to the Clearlake Senior Center on Bowers Avenue, which offers ADA-compliant facilities. Showers will be available daily from 5:00 to 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. For laundry, residents can now pick up prepaid cards at City Hall to use at local laundromats.

Private well testing continues for the 160 impacted households. If you still need a water tank or testing, officials urge you to submit a request form at the city’s website to stay on the priority list.
