Classrooms are swapping desks for dirt this week as Sonoma County celebrates its annual Ag Days at the local fairgrounds.
Per the Press Democrat, the two-day event, hosted by the Sonoma County Farm Bureau, gives thousands of elementary students a hands-on look at where their food comes from.
From petting farm animals to meeting local ranchers, children are learning how sustainability and natural resources power the region’s agricultural engine. This year’s theme highlights Sonoma’s role in feeding the world while protecting the planet for future generations.
The educational showcase continues Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. to noon at the Sonoma County Event Center.
