A 25-year-old Santa Rosa woman is behind bars after leading police on a 15-mile high-speed pursuit up Highway 101 Monday night.
The Petaluma Argus Courier reports Petaluma officers first attempted to stop Alyssa Metzger for speeding on wet roads, but she allegedly fled, reaching speeds of up to 80 miles per hour.
Even after Rohnert Park police deployed spike strips to shred her tires, Metzger continued driving on her rims until sparks forced her to stop in Santa Rosa. Officers reported finding an open container of alcohol in the SUV and noted that Metzger was driving on a suspended license from a previous DUI conviction.
She now faces multiple charges, including felony reckless evading and driving under the influence. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the erratic chase.
