The Santa Rosa Police Department is inviting residents to clear out their medicine cabinets for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day this Saturday, April 25th.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., volunteers will be stationed in the department lobby at 965 Sonoma Avenue to accept unwanted or expired medications for safe disposal.
This free, anonymous event aims to reduce public safety risks and prevent hazardous materials from entering the local environment. Officials warn that keeping unused prescriptions at home can lead to accidental poisonings or misuse.
If you can’t make it to the main station, additional drop-off locations can be found on the DEA’s website. It’s a quick and easy way to safeguard your home and protect the community.
