Investigators are searching for the cause of a massive mobile home fire that ripped through a Santa Rosa neighborhood Wednesday night. Fire crews arrived on Coronado Circle just before 11:00 p.m. to find a single-wide unit completely engulfed in flames.
The Press Democrat reports while three residents managed to escape the burning home before help arrived, two were rushed to a local hospital for smoke inhalation and minor injuries. Firefighters successfully kept the blaze from spreading to nearby structures, though two adjacent homes and several vehicles were damaged by the intense radiant heat.
In total, five people have been displaced, with the Red Cross stepping in to help those in need of temporary housing. Damage from the fire is currently estimated at $300,000, and officials say the cause remains under investigation.
