Medtronic has announced it will shutter its Santa Rosa operations over the next two years, a move that will impact roughly 370 local employees.
The medical technology giant plans to phase out its Fountaingrove campus by the spring of 2028, shifting those roles to Southern California, Minnesota, and Ireland. Company officials say the exit is part of a global restructuring aimed at long-term growth, ending a local presence that began back in 1998.
While the relocation will be gradual, it marks a significant loss for the North Bay’s biotech sector after nearly three decades in Sonoma County.
