Santa Rosa is losing its top legal advisor as City Attorney Teresa Stricker announces she’s stepping down next month.
The Press Democrat reports Stricker has led the city’s legal team since late 2023, navigating high-profile cases like the Jennings Avenue rail crossing and legal challenges against federal grant requirements.
The City Council now faces a dual leadership hunt, as they’re also working to fill the permanent City Manager position.
Mayor Mark Stapp thanked Stricker for her service, wishing her well as she moves on to an undisclosed new opportunity. Her final day at City Hall will be June 2nd.
An interim attorney is expected to be named shortly to manage the department’s fourteen-person staff and multi-million dollar budget.
