The Sonoma Valley Unified School District has finalized its three main priorities for the upcoming school year: boosting literacy, building trust, and reducing chronic absenteeism.
The Sonoma Index-Tribune reports Superintendent Jason Sutter announced the focus areas following a recent board study session, noting that plans to achieve these goals will be presented in August.
This strategic shift comes during a major administrative shakeup, with multiple new upper-level managers set to take office on July 1st. Superintendent Sutter acknowledged that while the incoming team will need time to adjust, he is highly optimistic about the district’s future.
The district is also currently interviewing candidates for a new Chief Business Official to round out the new leadership.
