Sonoma County Approves $50-Million in Public Transportation for the Next Fiscal Year

Sonoma County is committing nearly 50-million-dollars to public transportation in the upcoming fiscal year. The funding was approved by the Sonoma County Transportation Authority Board on Monday. Sonoma County Transit is getting more than 19-million-dollars, Santa Rosa CityBus is getting close to 14-million-dolllars, Golden Gate Transit is getting about seven-point-seven-million-dollars, Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit is getting more than four-point-six-million-dollars, and Petaluma Transit is getting more than four-million-dollars. The money is coming from Sonoma County’s Measure M Transportation Development Act and state transit assistance sales taxes.
