Santa Rosa and Sonoma County are getting millions of dollars in state funding to serve people who were living in homeless encampments. The county is getting four-point-six-million-dollars, while the city is getting three-point-nine-million-dollars. A news release from Governor Newsom’s Office says the funding for Sonoma County will serve 130 people from an encampment “along a multi-use trail.” That’s likely the Joe Rodota Trail, which had long been home to one of the largest homeless encampments in the county before it was cleared in March. The money going to Santa Rosa will serve “225 people from a large encampment.” The governor’s office did not say which one.
