Sonoma Tough Mudder Event Had Illnesses Last Year Too

There’s something in the mud in Sonoma. Public health officials continue to investigate reports of illnesses following last weekend’s Tough Mudder race at Sonoma Raceway. Hundreds of people have now reported illnesses to local health agencies or on social media. Sonoma County Public Health has received at least 125 reports, which have come from all over California. Many people have had pus-filled sores on their bodies, and infection-like symptoms, including rashes, fever, vomiting, chills, headaches and lightheadedness. Some participants in last year’s Tough Mudder event in Sonoma reported similar symptoms.
