Art of Mark di Suvero Set Up in Petaluma River Park

A new public art piece has been installed in a Petaluma park. Huru is a towering steel structure by world famous sculptor Mark di Suvero but isn’t technically new. It was first created in 1985 and has been featured across the country, most recently at San Francisco’s Crissy Field. The 6-ton, 38-foot-tall, wind-activated structure was installed at Petaluma River Park on the McNear Peninsula on October 2nd and 3rd with a ribbon cutting event this past Saturday. Huru has been loaned to the park by the estate of Lowell McKegney, a longtime friend of di Suvero, who worked with him as his studio director.
