Students and staff at Sonoma State University are protesting against a tuition hike recently approved by the California State University system. Tuition is rising by 34-percent in the next five years. Yesterday, about 75 students and faculty members held a rally. For one minute, they used drums, buckets, instruments and their voices to make as much noise as possible, calling it a “noise barrage.” Faculty members were also calling attention to disputes involving their ongoing salary negotiations.
