Twenty-Five California Counties Have a Median Home Price Under $500-Thousand

It’s getting a tad cheaper to live here in the Golden State. While 11 counties still have median home prices above one-million dollars, 25 others are under the 500-thousand mark. The latest sales data from the California Association of Realtors shows the far northern region is the cheapest with Lassen and Siskiyou counties under 300-thousand. For the next level under 400-thousand, there are options in Plumas, Shasta, Tehama, Trinity, Tulare, Lake, Glenn, Kern, Kings and Merced counties. And in the southern area, the most affordable homes are in San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

Meanwhile, the median home price in Sonoma County is $797-thousand.
