California is working to make roads safer in weather emergencies. Governor Newsom says climate change is “wiping entire towns of the map, destroying property, and putting communities in danger.” That’s why the state is investing 300-million dollars in 15 projects to protect millions of people and their homes. Examples include adding a second route for evacuations in Paradise, building bridges in Coachella Valley for hospital access during flooding, and strengthening a seven-mile stretch of railroad tracks along the coast.
