Former North Coast Congressman Frank Riggs has passed away. Riggs died on December 20th in Arizona at the age of 73. He was first elected to congress in 1990 as a Republican unseating Democratic Representative Doug Bosco. Riggs would serve three terms, on-and-off, before attempting to unseat Senator Barbara Boxer in 1998 before withdrawing. He would then move to Arizona in 2001 and attempted a run at governor or state schools superintendent in the 2010’s. However, both attempts failed. Before serving in congress, Riggs served as a Windsor schools trustee and a Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputy.
