A man who collided with a curb and a city street sign early Wednesday morning in Petaluma was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. While on routine patrol around 1:45 a.m. this morning, a Petaluma police officer saw vehicle debris on a sidewalk and a damaged city street sign at East D Street and Copeland Street. The officer continued south on Lakeville Street and found a car that had collided with the front curb of the Gateway Shopping Center and was blocking a lane. Officers allege the driver of the car showed signs of alcohol intoxication. After an investigation, the driver, Bernabe Zuniga-Jaramillo, was arrested and booked into Sonoma County jail on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run.
