A DUI driver has been arrested in Petaluma after crashing into a fire hydrant. On Monday afternoon, a solo-vehicle crash was reported at the intersection of Petaluma Boulevard South and Crystal Lane. Firefighters and officers responded to find a Ford truck had crashed into a hydrant near the round-a-bout. They found that the driver and sole occupant, Anthony Fires, was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him for DUI. Fires was taken to the hospital for medical clearance before being booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
