A loaded and unregistered handgun was found during a traffic stop in northwest Santa Rosa. On Friday night, officers saw a car speeding in the area of West 9th Street and Saracen Road. They pulled it over and, when the car stopped, the driver attempted to walk away but was detained. The officers searched the car and found a semi-automatic pistol and pistol magazine on the passenger side floorboard. The pistol was loaded with live ammunition and not registered with the DOJ. The driver was charged for the traffic violation while the passenger, G. Jimenez-Palacios, was arrested for the unregistered gun.
