A man has been arrested for robbing a convenience store in Glen Ellen. On Tuesday night, 34-year-old Joseph Wittig of Sonoma walked into the store on the 13000 block of Arnold Drive and demanded money from the register. Wittig showed a gun in his waistband to the clerk, and the clerk asked him to allow other customers in the store to leave. Wittig took cash out the register and drove away, leaving a jar of marijuana for the clerk. Sheriff’s detectives identified Wittig using surveillance video and arrested him the next day. They later served a search warrant at his home and found evidence linking him to the robbery, including a replica gun.
